Fifteen miles south of Denali, Moose's Tooth is the jewel in a crown that comprises Eye Tooth, Sugar Tooth and Broken Tooth. A vertiginous traverse which climbers Freddie Wilkinson and Renan Ozturk have dreamed about, researched, recced and prepped for the best part of a decade. Inspired by a vintage black and white photo, they learn about pioneering photographer and cartographer, and curator Bradford Washburn, the first to map this terrain in any detail.

While it never lacks for the breathtaking imagery and extreme altitude action you would expect from Ozturk (who was a cinematographer on both “Meru” and “Sherpa”), “The Sanctity of Space” is as much a documentary about Washburn as it is a climbing film, and all the better for it.
