A small village in the middle of nowhere and at the edge of the world. It’s January and the snowstorm has blocked all the roads. A lonely hotel, with even lonelier men.
Different characters gather in the gray room, all looking for a man who went to the nearest town through a heavy and dark forest. Only the sled returns in the morning light. There is no man, only a frozen wolf and a pistol on the sled. The next man goes to the dark forest and again – only a frozen wolf comes back. The circle repeats and repeats. There is a black raven on the table in a cage who drinks only when no one is watching and the clock strikes on the wall for eternal seconds.
“January” is an observational and thoughtful existential drama that does a kind of homage to the horror film genre.
