What if a contemporary cinema genius made a movie about one of the biggest minds in the history of art? Well, one very simple answer is the wonderful, playful, childish, philosophical, and absurd film “DAAAAAALI!”

Quentin Dupieux has proven since “Rubber” to be one of the wildest, weirdest, and most innovative filmmakers of our times. There is no need to explain Salvador Dalí. I will not even try to tell you the story of this film, just that we submerge again in a film-in-film, full of references to Dalí, his work and the power of cinema. Surely inspired by Buñuel, there are different actors performing Dalí and much of his own art turns into his surroundings. We also see how the famous dream story of Buñuel and Dalí, “Un Chien Andalou”, came to life.

Just lean back and enjoy this truly crazy trip.

Quentin Dupieux (1974) found a camera and used it to film everything he came across at the age of twelve. Very soon he found himself composing electronic music to accompany his footage and invented a pseudonym for himself: Mr. Oizo. In 2001 he made a mid-length film, “Nonfilm” and in 2006 directed his first feature, “Steak” for which he also wrote the original soundtrack along with Sébastien Tellier and Sebastian. His next film, “Rubber” (2010) was a huge hit around the world and became a sort of cult film. Several of his films ("WRONG", "Wrong Cops", and "Deerskin") have also been screened at PÖFF.

Filmography:
