Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event is a big part of the Black Nights Film Festival – it brings together film industry professionals from all over the world, giving them an opportunity to learn, network and find new potential collaborations. This year’s Industry will take place from the 9th to the 20st of November in the Nordic Hotel Forum. We have an extensive programme of conferences, project pitches, masterclasses, seminars, networking meetings, etc.

EGF (European Genre Forum) Assistant Internship

The European Genre Forum is an international training programme for European genre films, organising a three-day training programme for selected participants during the festival.

Intern’s tasks:

• coordinating the collection of digital materials from European Genre Forum participants (8 teams) ahead of the Industry programme (starting from September)
• managing documents within Industry databases and IT systems, and ensuring the correct handling and distribution of collected materials
• assisting the project manager during the Industry programme at Nordic Hotel Forum

Expectations for the intern:

• willingness to work with databases and digital environments
• strong ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced, digital work environment

Communication internship

For the past 25 years, Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event has organised panels, masterclasses, competitions, networking events, and many other activities for film industry professionals and film enthusiasts during the PÖFF – Black Nights Film Festival. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in communications and journalistic writing, contribute to the organisation of an international film festival, meet filmmakers from around the world, and become an essential part of the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event team. We are looking for motivated interns who are excited to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of the Black Nights Film Festival.

Intern’s tasks:

• writing press releases
• sorting and organising photo materials
• writing newsletters
• managing communication-related IT systems
• assisting the team during busy periods

Expectations for the intern:

• a strong sense of responsibility and reliability
• motivated and a positive attitude
• an interest in film, festivals, and/or communications
• excellent written and spoken English
• ability to work well under pressure
• proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative

Social media internship

The Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event Marketing and Communications team is responsible for promoting the event to audiences in Estonia and internationally. As an intern, you will work in a supportive team environment, contribute to real projects, and play an active role in the festival's marketing and communications.

Intern’s tasks:

• create visual content for social media
• film, edit, and publish video content during the festival, including interviews and event coverage
• contribute to social media content planning and propose new ideas
• write copy for social media posts
• capture photos and videos on a mobile phone during Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event activities and share them across social media channel

Expectations for the intern:

• excellent written and spoken English
• ability to create visual content (e.g. using Canva)
• ability to produce and edit videos for social media
• willingness to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
• eagerness to learn and contribute

Events management internship

Industry @ Tallinn & Baltic Event is a vital part of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival – it brings together film and entertainment industry professionals from all over the world, offering them opportunities to learn, network, and find potential new collaborations. Our diverse programme includes various conferences, project pitches, masterclasses, and networking events. This is a great opportunity to put your organizational skills to the test and gain a deeper understanding of the film industry.

Intern’s tasks:

• assisting the event management and production team with operational and running tasks, including schedule assembly
• gathering and verifying information
• assisting with event setup and overseeing room arrangement changes
• participating in the organization of evening side events
• providing on-site support to the team, volunteers, and guests during the festival

Expectations for the intern:

• detail-oriented, quick-learning, and courageous
• not afraid of making decisions
• good communication skills
• high proficiency in English
• interest in planning and managing events
