You will be the "eyes and ears" of the Discovery Campus, capturing the energy of the festival through high-quality audio and video interviews with mentors, talents, and industry guests.
Intern’s tasks:
On-Site Production - set up and operate DSLR/Mirrorless cameras and Røde (or similar) audio recording equipment for daily podcast sessions at the DC Hub.
Content Creation - conduct engaging, professional interviews with international film industry guests, mentors, and program participants.
Technical Workflow - monitor audio levels and video framing to ensure broadcast-quality capture in a busy festival environment.
Real-Time Delivery - assist with the immediate offloading, basic "quick-cut" editing, and uploading of content to the official portal or social media platforms.
Live Stream Management - support the setup and monitoring of "Live Podcast" sessions, ensuring a stable connection and clear signal.
Guest Coordination - identify and approach high-profile guests at the DC Hub to schedule impromptu or planned "flash" interviews.
Expectations for the intern:
Filmmaking Background & Technical Literacy - a foundational understanding of the film production lifecycle (Development to Distribution). Familiarity with industry-standard technical terms and formats, particularly DCP (Digital Cinema Package) and various screening file types.
Production & Logistical Interest - a genuine interest in Production Management; someone who enjoys the "puzzle" of organizing people, equipment, and schedules. Experience or interest in studio environments, specifically assisting with the setup of professional lighting and grip equipment.
Administrative Proficiency - strong skills in Google Workspace, specifically Google Sheets, for creating and maintaining trackers for film submissions, jury notes, and talent contact lists. Ability to manage digital archives and ensure all film assets are collected and organized systematically. Networking & Communication Characteristics
Proactive Communicators - confident and articulate in both written and verbal communication. They should be comfortable acting as the first point of contact for Mentors and high-level industry Talents, representing the programme with professionalism.
Networking-Driven Mindset - individuals who are specifically looking to build their own professional network within the film industry. They should see the "communication with talents" task as an opportunity to foster long-term industry relationships rather than just an administrative chore.
Cultural & Social Intelligence - skill in navigating the diverse personalities often found in filmmaking (from technical partners to creative directors). Ability to facilitate smooth communication between the FWF Jury and the production team, ensuring feedback and materials move efficiently. Personal Attributes
The "Support" Mindset - understanding that their role is to assist and support the execution of the project, meaning they are reliable, observant, and ready to step in where needed.
Resourcefulness - ability to troubleshoot logistical issues on the fly, such as coordinating last-minute equipment changes with technical partners.
Ambition with Humility - someone who wants to eventually lead productions but is currently eager to learn by doing the groundwork alongside experienced coordinators. In your application, please include a letter of motivation of up to one A4 page and a profile, portfolio or CV (Links to their previous work, in any).
