Junior Developer Intern

AJunior Developer Intern main tasks:
The goal of the internship is to create a tool for building and managing volunteer schedules, simplifying the planning of working hours and shifts using the Google Drive environment and JavaScript. The tasks outlined below serve as a framework; however, the final vision and technical implementation are for the intern to design. We do not limit the choice of tools and expect the intern to propose the best technical solution for the process.

• Creating a data entry form: Developing a user-friendly interface (either directly in a spreadsheet or via Google Forms) where volunteers can indicate their availability.
• Writing code (Google Apps Script): Developing JavaScript-based functions that process the input data and transfer it from the “raw data” sheet into a consolidated schedule.
• Schedule visualization: Configuring a Google Sheets view that provides department heads with a clear overview of filled and unfilled time slots. Department heads should be able to assign available volunteers to unfilled slots either manually or automatically using a script.
• Project documentation: Describing the system architecture and preparing a brief user guide for the team.

Expectations for the intern:

• Basic knowledge of JavaScript and an interest in learning Google Apps Script.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proactiveness and confidence to propose independent solutions.

The intern may choose the start date of the internship; however, it must be completed no later than the end of September. Therefore, we prefer candidates who are available to complete the internship during the summer.
