Iglupark and PÖFF – Sharing Estonia’s Sauna Culture with the World

Every November, PÖFF brings film lovers, filmmakers, and guests from around the world to Tallinn. Iglupark is delighted to be part of this special time of year, offering festival guests the chance to experience something as deeply rooted in Estonian life as cinema is in PÖFF – sauna culture.

At Iglupark, guests can enjoy an Iglusauna overlooking the sea and experience a truly Nordic tradition: stepping straight from the warmth of the sauna into the cold waters of the Baltic Sea. It may seem unfamiliar at first, but it offers an opportunity to try something new and discover a different side of Estonian culture.

Winter swimming has become a special part of the connection between Iglupark and PÖFF. The sauna and the cold sea bring together people who have travelled to Tallinn from different countries and cultural backgrounds. Beyond the cinema, guests have the chance to meet in a more relaxed setting, share experiences, and create memories that stay with them long after the festival ends.

For us, introducing Estonian sauna culture to people who may never have taken a dip in the cold sea or enjoyed a sauna overlooking the water is particularly meaningful. These new experiences are often what make a trip truly memorable, offering visitors a glimpse of Estonia beyond its best-known attractions.

Iglupark is located in the seaside Noblessner district, just a short distance from Tallinn’s city centre. Here, Nordic design, the sea, and sauna culture come together, offering festival guests a chance to take a moment for themselves and experience something that is an integral part of our culture and way of life.

Sometimes, the most memorable travel experiences happen in the most unexpected moments – in the warmth of a sauna, during a refreshing plunge into the cold Baltic Sea, or through a chance encounter with someone whose path might never otherwise have crossed yours. These are the moments that bring different cultures together and make a journey truly special.
