Alexela has been the main partner of PÖFF since 2023. Alexela’s goal is to support the promotion of culture in Estonia to help broaden the horizons and worldviews of our people. Alexela plays a similar role to PÖFF: one paves the way in cinema, and the other in the energy sector. Both have significant responsibilities. It is not enough for us to simply do our jobs well; it is crucial that we are at the pinnacle of quality. Energy security and supply reliability, like the sustainability of culture, are extremely important. In addition to keeping the room warm, ensuring the economy is thriving, and having lights on, we must preserve cultural diversity and development. This energy sustains the light that illuminates our souls and the cinema screen.

The Alexela team is convinced that the unprecedented interest in quality films in Estonia over the past decade has been largely due to PÖFF. Never before have there been so many cinemas and festivals dedicated to quality films. Since 1997, PÖFF has been the importer of quality films and has helped awaken broader interest in the art of filmmaking. PÖFF has brought top cinematic works to our region, which have shaped our audience’s choices and values over the years.
