This year, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival presents 252 feature films and 275 shorts from an impressive 79 countries.
The full programme is now live — and ticket sales are open!
Ticket prices remain the same as last year – €11 for the PÖFF main programme, and €9 for Just Film and PÖFF Shorts.
The festival, opening on November 7, will feature seven competition programmes in its main section, three in Just Film, and six in PÖFF Shorts. Audiences will be treated to 111 world and 31 international premieres.
In addition, the programme includes award-winning titles from the world’s most renowned festivals and Oscar contenders such as Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet
and Kaouther Ben Hania’s To My Father’s Voice – the latter, telling the story of a 5-year-old Palestinian girl killed in the Gaza war, was one of the most talked-about films at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
A total of 17 films in the PÖFF lineup have been submitted for the Best International Feature Film Oscar, while 13 are included in the European Film Awards pre-selection list.
In focus this year is Catalonia, inspired by the growing international recognition of its films. The programme features 29 feature-length and 4 short films, spanning from classics to the most recent works.
In the spotlight is Austria, with a selection that pays tribute to the continuity and diversity of Austrian cinema.
Among the special programmes, audiences can look forward to Standing with Ukraine, Old Gold: Classic Films Come to Life, Midnight Shivers, Screen International Critics’ Choice, and TV Beats Screenings. Additional sections are dedicated to environmental films and sports films, as well as tributes to Jessica Hausner and Juozas Budraitis.
World premieres of new Estonian feature films include Mo Papa by Eeva Mägi, The Edge of Night by Vladimir Loginov, It’s a Blessing to Live in Our Land by Indrek Spungin, Lost Stars by Katrina Lehismäe, Outside the System by Volia Chajkouskaya, and All the Way by Andres Luidre.
PÖFF and its film industry platform Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event will welcome 1,700 guests from more than 50 countries.
Over 876 screenings will take place across Tallinn and Tartu during the two-and-a-half-week festival, which runs from November 7 to 23.
The event is made possible through the dedication of 440 volunteers and 83 interns.
