PÖFF starts the week with films that talk about the importance of empathy and perseverance. A corageous spirit that refuses to give in to seemingly insurmountable difficulties. These are big stories about small actions, which sometimes are all it takes to save the world.
"One Life" tells the story of Sir Nicholas Winton (played by Anthony Hopkins), who saved 669 children from the Nazis in the eve of World War II. "I am the Earth" reveals the consequences of climate change, questioning whether that future generations will have a world to live in. In the documentary "The Last Rider", Greg LeMond, who won the Tour de France three times, openly shares the fight for his life. The program of the Best of Festivals, "Critical Zone", "Do Not Expect Too Much of the End of the World" and "The Chimera" show the latest new gems in world cinema.
Another of today’s highlights is the premiere of "Corrida", restored for Olav Neuland's 75th birthday, in which the film's composer Sven Grünberg and Sulev Keedus will be present.
