PÖFF Monday closes its eyes to reality and plunges headfirst into the fantasy of love. Today's program recharges the energy reserves of the week that began through internal combustion, fueled by passions, ambitions and other indeterminate feelings across the cinema screens.
The first suggestion of Monday's PÖFF program "What's love got to do with all this?" puts Tina Turner's iconic song "What's Love Got to Do with It" in the back of her head, her only Billboard number one song. It is telling here that a song written by two men was first tossed like a hot potato from one artist's desk to another repeatedly before it finally reached Turner and went down in music history forever. Similar challenges to this song are shared by today's movie recommendations, which take up the questions of whether love is a rag item and why this easily broken heart is needed at all.

Since Elle Kull was chosen as the female star of the century in 2012 next to Ulfsak, it can be assumed that it was their collaboration in this film adaptation of Leida Laius's literary classic "Ukuaru" that was so memorable and able to span decades. "Ukuaru" is a larger-than-life drama about a strong woman and a weak man trying to find their happiness in the winds of a changing world. Fantastic as a film, timeless in terms of the leads. Kull and Ulfsak were also able to play together in the memorable short film "Promenade" a few years later.
