PÖFF and Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event welcome participants to “Mastering Virtual Production for Independent Producers”, a groundbreaking two-day masterclass taking place on 5–6 June 2025 in Tallinn. This in-depth workshop is designed to equip independent filmmakers and audiovisual professionals with practical, hands-on knowledge of virtual and real-time production (also known as ICVFX), a technology that is rapidly transforming the film and TV industry.
Supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA programme, the masterclass specifically targets beginner to intermediate-level producers, line producers, and production managers from smaller markets or working with limited budgets. The event aims to demystify complex virtual production techniques and demonstrate how they can be used effectively in independent productions—enabling creative storytelling, cost efficiency, and logistical innovation.
Virtual production combines LED screens, camera tracking, and real-time rendering technologies to replace traditional green screens and location shoots with fully immersive digital environments. While widely used in major studio projects, this masterclass focuses on how the same tools can empower smaller productions with limited resources.
Participants will explore the full virtual production pipeline—from concept development to on-set execution and post-production integration—through a pragmatic and creative lens. Topics include:
The masterclass will be led by Maciej Zemojcin, co-founder of ATM Virtual Studio and Poland’s first virtual production producer. With over 20 years of international film production experience and a strong background in AI and storytelling integration, Zemojcin has contributed to events such as Cannes Next, Berlinale, and ACE. He currently works as a Virtual Production Supervisor and consultant across Europe.
