According to Marge Liiske, the Managing Director of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, the whole world is moving towards sustainability and a green revolution, and like all major social changes, it will have a significant impact on the film industry. “At Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, we take a closer look at the latest technologies including virtual production and the possibility of sustainability throughout the production process, and look at how to create outstanding films by applying these principles," she adds.

According to Tiina Loki, the Festival Director of PÖFF, Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event has grown into one of the most important events in the Nordic and Baltic region in two decades. she explains the importance of the event to Estonia and the festival: “Every year, several hundred film industry professionals participate in Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, who share their experiences and are actively looking for cooperation opportunities. All this, in turn, gives a boost to the development of the local film industry and projects every year.”

A separate debate is devoted to the Audiovisual Media Services Directive, which amended the obligations for online platforms regarding the distribution of audiovisual content. Professionals from French, Belgian and Swiss film foundations and directors of local film foundations will share their experiences of the successful implementation of the Directive.

However, the central focus of the Industry @ Tallinn & Baltic Event is always on business development and networking: the program includes co-production markets and business meetings, presentations of films in the pipeline, lectures on new financing, distribution and marketing opportunities, seminars and conferences. A total of 48 film projects will be presented at Industry @ Tallinn & Baltic Event within the framework of the film market, 16 of them within the Baltic Event co-production market, 19 Works in Progress screenings, 5 Script Pool competitors, and 8 within the European Genre Forum. Representatives of the projects will be brought together with the financiers, film producers, distributors, sales agents and festivals who have arrived in Tallinn.

Given the growing popularity of series, this year, for the first time, a market for series projects will take place, similar to the film market, bringing together creators and funders of series and presenting eight new projects. Trends and key topics in the drama series industry will be discussed at the TV Beats Forum, which will focus on the differences and similarities of film and serial production.
