Zeria
How do you convey your life and the history around it to someone who has never been to Earth? Gaspard is one of the few people who have stayed to live on Earth after the humankind’s great migration to Mars. For his hundredth jubilee, he decides to write to his grandson Zeria who is the first human born on Mars. Gaspard tries to create a pan-generational bridge of memories with someone with whom he has had no contact in order to leave a mark of a world that will soon be lost forever.
"Zeria" is definitely one of the most distinctive author films at this year’s festival and enchants with its truly effective visual solution created on the principles of the Arte Povera art movement, while experimenting with the techniques of a puppet film. At its very high artistic level, "Zeria" shines primarily thanks to its captivating narrative created by an intimate reflection of director Harry Cleven’s own life.
