In a small village in Southern Estonia, life goes on at its own pace. Helen is a very conscientious and active young girl whose life changes when she loses the most important thing to her. In a politically complicated situation that seemingly does not concern Southern Estonia very much, Helen tries to take care of her brother and support her father, while at the same time trying to find out what happened.
Siim decides to leave the city life behind and start a new life in Saaremaa, seeking peace and true happiness, while his friend Kaarel tries to pull him back into his mundane old life.
