When Big People Lie

Elvis just turned eight and his birthday wish has sort of come true. His single mother Lola has invited an immigrant stranger, Mohammed to live with them for money. The arrangement takes a turn when Lola and Mohammed suddenly marry. Spiraling into a sea of confusion, Elvis navigates his new stepfather while remembering his biological one in flits of collapsing memory and make-believe. A visit from authorities surprises the family, complicating his world and risking everything he knows.
