What Went Wrong?
Pushing 40 in a cycle of failed relationships, Lili tracks down former lovers to ask, “What went wrong?” Wouldn’t that be enough already for a beautiful film that cannot but interest the whole world (searching for love)?
Here is the twist, that turns this film into a cinematic gem of autofiction (a genre thriving in catalan filmmaking right now!). Lili is Liliana Torres - writer and director of the film - who puts herself in front of the camera, reflecting on her own life on an wonderfully intimate level, thereby blending reality and fiction - and truly inspiring any viewer to ask themselves the titular question in an unusually intense way.
Former love affairs are mostly played by actors, but the effect is one of total openness, transparency, reflection. Torres thereby inverts the method of her debut Family Tour (2013, World Premiere in San Sebastian) in which her real family starred, while Lily herself was played by an actor.
Today people question romantic relationships a lot more than they did in the past - and rightfully so. We can only improve our relationships if we dare to question ourselves. There’s nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Liliana Torres (snd 1980) on lõpetanud filmirežii eriala (ESCAC). Film esilinastus San Sebastiani filmifestivalil 2013. 2019 tegi Torres koos Sofia Escudéga dokumentaalfilmi „Hayati“. PÖFFil esilinastuv „Mis läks valesti“ on tema teine täispikk mängufilm.
