The Good Person
"The Good Person" by Eitan Anner, winner of our PÖFF Grand Prix & Best Actress award with "A Quiet Heart" in 2016, tells the fable of the 38-year-old Sharon, an ambitious, workaholic, art-house film producer.
Suddenly, Sharon finds herself on the brink of bankruptcy and so she sees an opportunity to secure her future by making a deal with the 59-year-old Uzi – once a grandmaster of cinema turned into an ultra-Orthodox rabbi. Now Uzi’s only wish is to return to the cinema with an adaptation of the epic biblical story of King Saul.
This kicks off one of the most amazing and original screwball comedies that I have had the pleasure to see in my life. “The Good Person” is not only pointing a finger at the crazy world of cinema, but also tells about us and a good deal more.
