THE END (artificial fragments of humankind)
Is this the story of Esther, whose life seems centred on clicking a rabbit, mouse in hand? Or is it the story of Connie, harassed by her lecherous boss? Or of a young man who dreams of strangling a woman? What if everything was linked?
Certainly a unique film: take the F for Film and this would be a UFO. Rebels With a Cause introduces the most surrealist, absurdly funny, out-of-the-world film of the festival.
No doubt, the film is an endless source of creativity, a boundless spring that continuously emanates nonsensical humour and irreverent images. The Héraud brothers manage to put together a surprisingly compact film, where every sequence creates new imagery. Addictive and engaging, “The End” surprises and entertains but also challenges the (brave) audience.
