Benjamin Lane, a 15-year-old prodigious swimmer, with the world at his feet, is nonetheless an unhappy boy despite his successes. When his father gets out of jail, he reappears in his everyday life. Unable to cope with this new situation, this teenager with a future ahead does not know how to overcome the mixed feelings that this presence arouses in his life. Little by little he pursues himself in getting the best and preparing himself to be a champion with hard training. That is the only thing that makes him happy. In the pool, he struggles out of his discomfort and the depression caused by loneliness returns as soon as he returns home.
