Revolution of Pigs
"Revolution of Pigs" is a youth comedy set in a Woodstock-like environment. The main character is a 15-year-old boy, Tanel (Jass Seljamaa), who finds himself and his love during the revolt.
In the summer of 1986, thousands of young Estonians travel to the Estonian Students' Union gathering for three days of adventure, romance and partying. But the pressure of the system is there – you must follow the ideological rules and keep your mouth shut, regardless of the fact that the slogans are no longer valid, and the graduates can be sent to the war in Afghanistan. Pressure creates anti-pressure and the struggle against the system explodes.
This spring marks the 20th anniversary of the film's premiere. "Revolution of Pigs" was the first Estonian film ever to win the Special Jury Prize at the Moscow Film Festival. In 2004, the film was screened internationally at dozens of film festivals around the world. "Revolution of Pigs" was also nominated by Estonia for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Jaak Kilmi has graduated from the Department of Culture of Tallinn Pedagogical University, majoring in directing. He has (co-)directed and produced a string of award-winning short films; a number of documentary films and feature films. His films have received international recognition and have often been broadcasted abroad. Kilmi has acted as a member of the film commission of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia and the Estonian Film Board.
