Oh, Canada
Famed documentary filmmaker agrees to sit in front of cameras to talk about his eventful life for the first time.
Over 40 years ago, Richard Gere played an American gigolo, directed by Paul Schrader, and now they’re working together again.
Gere plays a documentary filmmaker who fled the US for Canada in the early 1960s and is now at the end of his life. Through fragmentary episodes, we follow his life in a masterful drama of aging and memory, with Jacob Elordi (“Priscilla”, “Saltburn”) as the director in his younger years.
The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
