My Partners
Polyamorous relationships reveal egoism, sexual appetite and self-doubt.
A voice behind the camera asks, “When was the last time you heard someone say, ‘I love you’?”
Three couples from Estonia and Germany navigate the uncharted territory of free love, finding new partners without ending their current relationships. On their journey they seek the help of mentors, psychologists, shamans, dancers and meditation experts. Over the course of several years, filmmaker Eva Kübar observes their sexual intimacy, desires and insecurities without ever judging their personal choices.
After ten years together, Riita and Taavi agree to meet other partners for sexual relations. They join other free-spirited couples at a cult-like camp that uses various techniques to push the boundaries of conventional relationships. Meanwhile, Marianne and Sven work to rebuild their crumbling marriage for the sake of their children. Marianne promises Sven that she won't see her lover Kay, with whom she feels more alive, while Kay's wife Beate sees Marianne's appearance in their lives as a challenge and a chance to grow.
