My Parents' Divorce
Romy was a teenager when her parents divorced. She has not met her father after that. She was raised by her mother with whom she has a very close relationship. Not just personal, but also professionally creative. However, as an adult young woman she is still plagued by the question of why her parents divorced. Together with her friend Anaïs, she travels to her father in Brussels to get answers which are not all easily understandable, but in places painfully tear open wounds.
We have seen how young people tell the story of their
family in their first full-length film. This one doubtlessly stands out among these. Firstly, because it is utterly honest. What makes the film special, however, is that the authors ignore documentary film traditions and have solved the topic partly in a musical key.
