Liza's Tale
This story takes place in the magical realistic set of the Ukrainian province. In spite of сrude rules which are imposed by society, our heroes create their own world moved by force of mutual love. Particularly this is not easy for two of them to destroy the barriers of life, freedom and happiness defeat for ones with Down syndrome.
Alexander Zhovna is an Ukrainian writer, screenwriter and director. He is Member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine and of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine. He was bestowed the honour of Honoured Artist of Ukraine in 2008. He is known for directing documentaries, and as a cinematographer on multiple documentaries, and short films. His first full-length fiction feature debut "Liza's Tale" (2019) was internationally successful and was screened around the world in various film festivals. "Sashenka" is Zhovna's second full-length fiction feature film.
