What is your inner car? Who is the person inside your inner car? What is the favourite song of the person inside your inner car? His dreams? His fears? These questions are answered by dancers who have formed a unified sectarian army through personal authenticity.

“Linear” is a dance film that conveys misunderstandings and crossing paths between people. Seemingly linear paths can intertwine with others, and anything can emerge from a sudden meeting. Random collisions show that we do not live alone but in parallel with others. How many soul mates could there be whom we live linearly and never meet? In our film, this does not happen – there is a moment in time to find and perceive each other.
The makers of this film have been lucky enough to meet their dearest people by chance and this moment is also found in the film. The film aims to convey this feeling.

The film is a memory of the author’s childhood. “It is a rainy summer day and the whole earth is wet from the rain. No one goes outside except one little girl who wants to water the apple tree because that's what she does every day. As she walked with her red rubber boots and yellow watering can, she also noticed various apples that seemed to be dripping from the heavy rain. She approached the tree and watered it with great love, even though she came back drenched and with a watering can full of rain.” The apples symbolize all the dancers who appear on the screen. Like every apple, every dancer has a history, special look, and style.

The funniest stories happen in real life!

“Somnium” is a story about how in order to alleviate problems, one tries to avoid them or not admit them to oneself. The main character of the film imagines an ideal world where the worries of so-called ordinary life do not exist. However, the resulting social isolation has prompted the character to imagine companions who don't really exist. A person trapped in an ideal world imagines himself as a fairy-tale character sleeping in a high pile of mattresses, but instead of being comfortable, his sleep is disturbed by the peas hidden between the mattresses. Is “Somnium” a dream or a sleep-like waking world?

You don't have to know someone for long to feel their mark on your life. Sometimes all it takes is a few minutes or an hour to make a difference. Even those who pass through our lives only for a short time can later turn out to be as important as the loved ones we meet every day. Success doesn't always depend on how long someone is with us, but rather on the mark they leave.

Creation connects not only time and like-minded people but also the seemingly unconnected ones. Striving for a common goal or allowing non-targeted hits, we create bridges between worlds. “I came to visit you yesterday and... I will cherish tomorrow's memories.” Does living another day prove I can see the future?

Humans as a white background. How contact and body connection paint the whole of us. What happens when our bodies feel each other, the warmth around us begins to paint a picture of us.

The film was made as part of the curriculum of the ETA Dance School in the dance film course. Rūta Ronja Pakalne, a teacher from the ETA Dance School, helped guide the film.

The goal is to convey a feeling, a feeling of the cold, its heaviness as well as its brightness, the moment when the fog glides along the sea, the sea foam is replaced by ice, and we as people merge into one. The darkness of winter buries everything, we are wrapped in thick layers, afraid of the cold and freezing. Winter gives us brightness, eye candy – ice, snow-white snow – only for a little while.

How much we actually fall for and are influenced by opinions. How much of what I do is what I actually want and how much do I do for norms and a sense of belonging – do a lot and stand out! Work! Work! Work! Then you are good and worthy of recognition!?
Sometimes the sense of self disappears in all of this, I no longer perceive boundaries. Abundance of information. Competing for something unattainable. We create an impression of ourselves on others all the time. We want to appear businesslike, go-getters. brave, good... Sometimes you get fed up with it all and don't want to be or appear any way or meet anyone's expectations!
