How I Learned to Fly
Adventurous and funny Sofia (12) is forced to spend her vacation with her overbearing grandmother Maria (67), on an island in Croatia. It’s not the ideal summer experience she had hoped for, but with the help of her warmhearted old aunt Luce (65) and her charming cousin, Sofia overcomes her initial boredom. She makes new friends and together they explore everything the summer on the island has to offer: sparkling sun, fun in the water, lots of ice cream and her first kiss. But her carefree time comes to an abrupt end, when beloved Luce has to be taken to hospital, leaving Sofia with a part of her family she didn’t even know existed. Nevertheless, in the wake of tragedy, the family finally overcomes old traumas and when Sofia returns home, she realizes that revealing painful secrets is challenging but very liberating. An entertaining family film that takes you on a charming, yet emotional summer adventure by the sea.

Radivoje Andrić is a film and television director. Prior to his studies at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, he directed the performances at the Dadov amateur theatre: "Tomb for Boris Davidovich" (Grobnica za Borisa Davidovica) by Danilo Kis and "Che - the Lasting Tragedy" (Ce - tragedija koja traje) by Dusko Radovic and Matija Beckovic. He acquired his experience over the past ten or so years working as an assistant to renowned Yugoslav directors. Participated on Festival of Documentary and Short Film in Belgrade (1997) with the films: "January River" (Januarska reka), "The Week of Fighting Against Interference" (Nedelja borbe protiv ometanja) - all about demonstrations in Belgrade during 1996-1997, produced by independent Belgrade radio station and video production - B-92. With his film "January River", he participated at Pusan International Film Festival (1998) and L'Alternativa '98 (Barcelona). With those films and also with his last short documentary "Can't They See the Writing on the Wall Emancipating the Media" he participated at this years La Biennale di Venezia, as a guest of Italian pavilion, presenting the video production of Radio B-92. "Three Palms for Two Punks and a Babe" is his first feature film for which he was awarded at (almost every) Yugoslav film festival.
