Hello World
Hello World is a celebration of kids and young teens who have the courage to be different, whether it’s about telling they are gay, colouring their hair blue or dressing in clothes normally used by the opposite sex. Hello World is made especially for those who feel completely alone because of who they feel they are, and those who need to see a glimpse of the rainbow. We follow the lives of Viktor (12), Runa (12), Dina (13) and Joachim (14) over the course of three years as they attend lower secondary school. Hello World gives us a window into understanding what it is like to be the first.
Kenneth Elvebakk (b. 1966) is a Norwegian director. He is primarily known for his documentaries, but has also made several short films and television series. His work includes the award winning documentaries Ballet Boys (2014), 3269 Daisy (2007) the TV-series Hullaballoo (2006) and The Secret Club (2003). He has worked five years for The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) -both in TV and radio. For the past 20 years, he has worked freelance as a director, focusing on LGBTIQ+ and coming-of-age stories. Elvebakk received his education from the University of Oslo, The Norwegian School of Management, and Oslo Film and TV Academy. Kenneth also teaches film students. Several of his films have homosexuality as a theme.
