Good Savage
A young couple from the US, struggling with their marriage, decides to move to Mexico. As liberal artists, they seek inspiration and freedom in a new country ready to be discovered. But the reality is far from what they are imagining.
They have in their minds an idea for a film title (such a sarcastic reference), and they are not aware of how the colonial impact has affected the representation between countries. Every new episode the couple is facing shows them as ridiculous(ly funny) characters in a landscape they only see through a screen.
Crime, comedy, and a love for underground cinema mix together in an offbeat story that offers a sharp and satiric statement on contemporary cultural dynamics. No problemo, Mexico is all that you need, amigo.
Javier Garcia Puerto
Santiago Mohar Volkow is a Mexican director, screenwriter and producer. His first film "Los Muertos" (2014) premiered at the Morelia Film Festival and later at various national and international festivals, such as Mar del Plata and the Riviera Maya Festival where it was recognized as the best film. In 2017 he founded the production company Laredo 17, where he has been screenwriter and executive producer of the TV series "El Candidato Rayo" and "Mexcamgirlz". He has been screenwriter on the HBO series "Los Detectives Salvajes" and Apple TV's "Los Nadies". In 2020 he premiered the documentary "Sísifos", awarded as the best film at the Shanghai International Film Festival and the mid-length film "Lumbre", awarded by the French National Arts Center at the Marseille Film Festival.
