World premiere
In 2023, Tallinn held the title of the European Green Capital, in the wake of which Joosep Matjus and Katri Rannastu made the documentary “Greener Tallinn”. Through four seasons, the diverse natural landscapes and environments of the Estonian capital reveal themselves layer by layer. This is a tribute to Estonian nature that is right here, in the city around us. Matjus's previous film “The Wind Sculpted Land” won the hearts of many Estonians and showed us what an idyllic environment we live in.
Known for his poetic and sensitive storytelling style, the director premieres his new film at PÖFF.

The film music created by Tauno Aints was recorded by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra with its chief conductor Tõnu Kaljuste. What makes the premiere special is that the music does not come from a film tape, but is performed live by the same ensemble.

Over 46 minutes, the film takes the viewer on a journey to discover different initiatives and cases where Chileans are contributing to mitigate the effects of climate change, from large-scale projects and scientific innovations to day-to-day citizen actions, all of which are collectively necessary. The focus of this documentary is to show how Chile is contributing to an issue that affects all of humanity, such as climate change, in five thematic areas: sustainable agriculture; forest and biodiversity conservation; renewable energy; the water crisis; and astronomy.
The featurette film was directed by renowned director Maite Alberdi, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2021 (“The Mole Agent”).
