Anora
This is what “Pretty Woman” would have looked like if it hadn't been produced by Disney...
The son of a Russian billionaire falls in love with a young sex worker from Brooklyn. On a trip to Las Vegas the two impulsively get married. When his parents find out, they send ruthless henchmen to get the marriage annulled. “Anora” is a fulminant, action-packed and romantic comedy about class differences.
With its satirical edge and captivatingly hilarious moments that will make you laugh out loud, it makes for an absolute crowd-pleaser. Therefore, it is no wonder that the film directed by Sean Baker (“The Florida Project”) won the Palme d’Or at Cannes.
