An ophthalmologist’s assistant (Michael Lerner) with an unhealthy interest in human eyeballs goes on a killing spree to collect more for his overbearing, telepathic mother’s collection (Zelda Rubinstein). When her son decides to hunt for prey among the aisles of a busy movie theatre, everything soon takes a bizarre turn, both for the killer and the audience.

As clever as it is gruesome, Bigas Luna’s (“Jamón Jamón”, “Golden Balls”) 1987s horror “Anguish” is a darkly comedic tour de force that’s an experience unlike any you’ll find playing in a movie theatre today.
