Tallinn’s Old Town

Step into history in this UNESCO World Heritage site, with cobblestone streets, medieval churches, and hidden courtyards. Play the Melchior the Apothecary adventure game to explore the Old Town in a fun, interactive way, and don’t miss Town Hall Square, home to one of Europe’s most magical Christmas markets in December. Explore the Rotermann Quarter - PÖFF Festival’s Hub

Located right next to Nordic Hotel Forum, Metropol Hotel (with Spa and Relaxation Centre), and Apollo Cinema Plaza (one of the main festival venues), the Rotermann Quarter is this year’s heart of PÖFF. Don’t miss the Pop & Contemporary Art Museum and the quarter’s crown jewel, Stalker Passage (where Tarkovsky's “Stalker” was filmed), which adds a truly cinematic touch to your visit.

🎬 Film lovers can also take a short walk to Linnahall, one of the iconic filming locations of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. Step into epic filming locations in Tallinn and explore Tallinn through the lens of cinema here.

Kadriorg Palace and Park

Kadriorg Palace is a baroque palace, where you can see the Estonian Art Museum’s collection of foreign art. The palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens. You can also visit Kumu - the main building of the Estonian Art Museum - which is a five minute walk from the Kadriorg Palace. Find out more.

Telliskivi Creative City

Telliskivi Creative City is a former factory site that is now home to numerous restaurants, bars, design shops, and cultural institutions, such as Fotografiska Tallinn, a photographic art centre and satellite-gallery of the photography museum founded in Stockholm, or The Juhan Kuus Documentary Photo Centre. It is also the place where PÖFF’s offices are located, PÖFF being one of the first ones to move here during the start of the district’s development. Find out more.

Noblessner seafront quarter

Noblessner seafront quarter, a former submarine factory, is now a place for art galleries, such as Kai Art Center, and many great restaurants. A good place to visit with children is the Proto Invention Factory, where you can experience Jules Verne era inventions through virtual reality and hands-on technology. You can also take a stroll by the marina, have a sauna and a dip in the sea in Iglupark or look around in the Seaplane Harbour, one of Europe’s grandest maritime museums. There is a temporary exhibition. It tells the story of the ferry Estonia from beginning to end. Find out more.

Iglupark

Iglupark in Noblessner, Tallinn is a unique seaside retreat combining wellness, comfort, and work. It features 10 cozy Igluhuts for two-person stays, 5 Iglusaunas with sweeping sea views, and 4 Igluoffices, all in a stylish design by Estonian manufacturer Iglucraft. Maarjamäe History Centre

In Maarjamäe History Centre you can visit Maarjamäe Palace, which has exhibitions about the history of the Republic of Estonia, or something for film enthusiasts - The Film Museum - that tells a story about the history of cinema. A short walk away is also the Memorial to the Victims of Communism. Find out more.

Estonian Film Museum

The Film Museum, part of the Estonian History Museum, was established in 2006 and has operated in its distinctive building within the Maarjamäe Palace complex since 2017. A "red carpet" leads visitors through Film Alley, showcasing local cinema history via playful artworks.

The museum features a permanent exhibition, a cinema, and temporary exhibits on Estonian and world film history. Visitors can experience green screen effects and explore filmmaking firsthand. The collection includes costumes, props, photos, and designs. Find out more.

Põhjala tehas

Põhjala Tehas is a former rubber factory on Tallinn’s Kopli peninsula that has transformed into a vibrant cultural and creative hub. Home to over 100 creative businesses (including cafés, restaurants, breweries, studios, galleries, and art shops) the area also features community gardens, rooftop spaces, regular festivals, exhibitions, and public events. The site blends flexible space use with a strong focus on preserving industrial heritage and promoting sustainable urban development, making it one of Tallinn’s most dynamic and evolving districts. It’s a hidden gem, just a 20-minute tram ride from central Tallinn. Find out more.

Public transport

Tallinn is very compact and easy to get around. Reaching farther-out destinations is simple thanks to the city's network of buses, trolleys and trams. The public transport network operates from 6:00 to 23:00 daily (see timetables for further information). The ticket system works on a random-inspection basis: you don't have to show anything to the driver. Simply remember to validate each entry at one of the orange validators (or risk a €40 fine).

One-hour public transport ticket:

You can buy one-hour ticket with a contactless payment card* (Mastercard, Maestro, Visa and Visa Electron) at the rectangular orange validators in the front of the vehicle. Simply tap your card on the validator!

One-day public transport ticket:

You can buy one-day ticket online from tallinn.pilet.ee, or with the mobile app pilet.ee.
