Confined to a rest home, a former Judge must stop an elderly psychopath who employs a puppet to abuse the residents.

Stefan Mortensen (Geoffrey Rush), a misanthropic judge nearing the end of his career, suffers a stroke in the middle of a courtroom, forcing him into a nursing home. There, he encounters Dave Crealy (John Lithgow), a long-time resident who terrorises the other occupants using his doll, Jenny Pen, as the executor of his tyranny and a tool of torture.

A showdown follows between the two men, escalating into violence and horror that will either lead to victory, or death.

Full of creepily twisted and originally unsettling set pieces, “The Rule of Jenny Pen” doesn’t just tap into the universal fear of death, but also the perils of getting old. Actors John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush were jointly awarded best actor at the Sitges Film Festival.
