Takashi Sugimoto is a Japanese filmmaker based in Lisbon, Portugal. Sugimoto has lived in Europe for 25 years. He studied photography in Turin, Italy, did an internship at the Magnum photo agency in Paris, and holds a postgraduate degree in dramaturgy and directing from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in Lisbon. He was a member of the jury for the Revelation Award section of DocLisboa 2021. He speaks English, Portuguese and Japanese. He also speaks some Italian. Loves nature, the sea, trees, flowers. And some poetry.
