Forgotten skate park – fighting time to save a piece of history.
For three years, documentary filmmaker Jonathan Lomar has followed one of the world’s oldest skate parks in Falkenberg. With unique archives, “Automobilen” takes a road trip to “Halland’s Las Vegas” in the 70s, a place that was anything but abandoned. A story that is woven around the big question mark: What is actually cultural heritage?
Jonathan Lomar is a documentary filmmaker based in Sweden, who discovered his passion for film through skateboarding. After earning a BA in documentary directing from the Norwegian Film School, he has primarily worked behind the lens. His graduation film, “Made in Skene”, was selected for the “Next Nordic Generation” programme at the Haugesund Film Festival 2020, and later screened at Grimstad and Halland in 2021. In 2022, his series “Oski” won Best Documentary at the Paris Surf & Skateboard Film Festival. In 2024, he completed the TV documentary “Automobilen” (Best Feature, PSSFF 2024) and is developing projects such as “Art of Not Knowing”, “Glommen 2.0”, and “The Pinball King”.
