It’s the year 1997. There are empty shop counters, economical instability and criminal dramas, all this spreads out of almost every corner.
A young leader of a criminal gang, Anton Bykov, by the nickname “Bull” is forced to provide for his family by any means necessary. Anton was taken to the police station after a neighbourhood firefight. One of the Moscow criminal leaders helps him to get out, in return he asks the character to do a small but dangerous favor.
Former ballet dancer and graduate of VGIK Boris Akopov offers up an exceptionally mature feature debut, a taut drama whose energetic soundtrack, compulsive narrative rhythm and raw performances faithfully capture the hostile spirit of post-Soviet Russia.
