A haunting film of surreal images, enchanting hypnotic sounds and scary thoughts. Once upon a time Russians built Gulag camps and now people still live here in these ghost cities. They are grateful and obedient for the system. Girls humbly repeat precise choreography of movements for ballet dance. Boys are trained how to use Kalashnikov automatic rifles. They are expected to mature as loyal as previous heroes, who died for big red country. Constantly shown propaganda films reminds them about the truthful path. It seems that citizens are going to the specified direction by free will and the spirit of Stalin is present.
Karlovy Vary’s best documentary observe ideological phenomena like a fantasy fairy tale in freezing Arctic landscapes, where every day routines are determined by strict orders and instructions. Make sure you will experience immortality exercises in cinema.
